Holiday weeks do not mix well with budgets ... why do I say that? Well, during the holiday weeks the crew's working hours drop from 40 to 32 hours to allow for the holiday pay and thus maintain our budget. With a working crew of 15 members this equates to a loss of 120 hours or the equivalent of 3 full-time employees for a week. It always put us behind but the good news is that we will make it up soon.
Today we just hired our 18th team member and by next week we will have hired our 19th as per agreement. These team members will aid in the successful accomplishment of the month of June which will be an extremely busy month. Besides the drill & fill and aeriifcation we will be tackling a couple in-house projects to future improve the golf course. These projects include removal of a couple unnecessary bunkers and the expansion of the DR tee. I feel that these will be extremely successful to the overall improvement of Avondale.
